About Su

What you can't see in the picture are all the ants that made their way into our trousers while we smiled brightly at the camera.
Chad and I have been happily married for nine years. You may remember our anniversary a few weeks ago-- there was a lot of confetti, and a giant ball dropped, and a bunch of people sang "Auld Lang Syne" while drunk. My family lives in Indiana; Chad's family lives in California. Sometimes it feels like we live in three realities.

I am a non-traditional 4th-year student. I study Rhetoric & Writing, with some Spanish and linguistics thrown in for my own entertainment.

I haven't lived in a lot of places, but enough to make me slightly loopy: I started off life in Greenfield, Indiana, moved to Glasgow, Scotland, from there to Lubbock, Texas (where Chad & I met and married), and as of July 2010, Austin, Texas. Where's next? We don't know, but it will probably depend on either grad school or a job, or both. I do know that every move gets a bit more harrowing.

I do have a few hobbies outside of studying, blogging, and complaining: I read, run, sew, crochet, cook (occasionally), and I'm working on knitting. It's bound to give in sooner or later. I also write, with the idea that some day someone will want to pay me to print something that I've written. In the meantime: I practise.

I like the following sports: Basketball, tennis, soccer, cycling, and running. (That's my order of priority for watching; reverse the order for me participating.) I do not like these sports: American football. I'm pretty neutral toward all others.

I am quite cheeky, although I do try to temper my cheekyness with some measure of sense!  God has been good to me; people have been good to me; life has been good to me; it is my goal to give back that goodness to others on a daily basis.
